Abstract

There has been a decline in the level of performance in some skill respects and in the execution of the tasks assigned to players, especially those that require repeated high physical effort or occur in the final third of the match. This research aims to identify the differences between the results of the pre and posttests for some physical abilities of the experimental group, as well as the differences between the post test results of the physical abilities of the experimental and control groups among advanced football players.

The research hypotheses indicate that there are significant differences between the results of the pre and posttests in some physical abilities of the players in the experimental group. In addition, there are significant differences between the post test results of the physical abilities of the players in the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group.

The researcher used the experimental method due to its suitability to the nature of the study. The main research sample was intentionally selected from advanced football players of Al-Alam Sports Club for the 2025–2026 sports season. The total sample consisted of 25 players, from which 16 players were selected to represent the experimental sample. These were divided into two groups (experimental and control) using the matching method and then randomly assigned into two groups of 8 players each. Some players were excluded for the purposes of experimental control.

The researcher concluded that the experimental group achieved improvement when comparing the post test results of the experimental and control groups, in favor of the experimental group tests. The researcher recommended paying greater attention to performance endurance exercises in developing the physical attributes and abilities of advanced football players and conducting further studies on other age groups in football.
