The Role of Sports Media and Its Relationship with the Psychological Adjustment of Football Players

The research aims to identify the following
- To develop a scale measuring the role of sports media and examine its relationship with psychological adjustment among Premier League football players in the Kurdistan Region for the 2024–2025 season.
The researcher used the descriptive method through survey and correlational approaches on a sample of 147 players, divided into construction, pilot, and final application groups. The results showed the effectiveness of scientifically constructed scales and that players possessed a high awareness of the role and importance of media in their sports careers. Additionally, a high level of psychological adjustment and emotional regulation was observed.
The study revealed a significant positive correlation: the more positive the role of the media, the greater the players' psychological stability and their ability to adapt to competitive pressure. The research concluded that media serves as an educational tool that contributes to shaping the athlete's personality and directing their competitive behavior. This was confirmed by establishing a predictive regression equation demonstrating the impact of media on psychological adjustment. the study recommended the need to develop objective media strategies, involve psychological specialists in sports programs, and train players to interact professionally with media outlets in order to support their athletic future.
