The impact of an educational program in developing first aid knowledge for Scout leaders holding the wooden badge

Abstract

The aim of the research was to build a first aid knowledge scale among Scout leaders holding the wooden badge, and to identify the impact of the educational program in developing first aid knowledge among Scout leaders holding the wooden badge. The experimental method was used to design the two equivalent experimental and control groups with pre- and post-measurements. The research community included female leaders and scout leaders carrying the wooden badge in Iraq, numbering (729), and the research sample was chosen with (224) male and female leaders, located in Baghdad Governorate and the Middle Euphrates Governorates. (25) were chosen as a reconnaissance sample, (148) as a scale-building sample, and (40) as a main sample, divided equally into two groups: experimental and control. The first aid knowledge scale was applied with its (24) paragraphs in the pre- and post-tests, and the researchers adopted the binary correction method (1-0), as one score was given for the correct answer and zero for the incorrect answer. The knowledge program, with its (11) units, was applied to members of the experimental group of scout leaders holding the wooden badge in Babil Governorate, numbering (20), over the course of (6) weeks, two units per week, one electronic via the (Zoom) program and the other applied in-person. One of the most important conclusions that emerged from the research is that the educational program has a positive impact on knowing first aid for leaders holding wooden badges.
