The Relationship Between Strategic Management and Professional Behavioral Competence among Volleyball Club Coaches in Iraq

The study aimed to develop a Strategic Management Scale for volleyball club coaches in Iraq and to identify the levels of strategic management and professional behavioral competence among volleyball club coaches in Iraq. It also sought to examine the relationship between strategic management and professional behavioral competence among these coaches.
The researchers adopted the descriptive approach using both survey and correlational methods. The study population consisted of 114 volleyball club coaches during the 2023–2024 sports season, representing 100% of the research population. The participants were distributed across 18 governorates and represented 54 volleyball clubs throughout Iraq.
The study reached several conclusions, the most important of which were:
- Strategic management plays a role in achieving a moderate level of professional behavior efficiency among Iraqi volleyball club coaches.
Based on the findings, the researchers proposed several recommendations, the most important being:
- Encouraging the administrations of sports clubs to adopt the principles and foundations of strategic management identified in this study, as this may contribute to enhancing the level of professional behavior efficiency among their coaches, particularly volleyball coaches.
