This study investigates the effectiveness of a rehabilitation program combining Shockwave Therapy and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (P.N.F) exercises for gymnasts suffering from a moderate partial tear of the lateral ligament of the ankle joint. The research highlights the importance of addressing recurrent sports injuries, particularly ligament tears, which threaten athletes’ careers and performance. The program aims to improve muscular strength of the supporting muscle groups and enhance the ankle’s range of motion. Using an experimental design with a single group and pre–post testing, results demonstrated clear improvements in functional efficiency and physical capabilities. The findings confirm that integrating Shockwave Therapy with P.N.F exercises accelerates recovery, restores balance between physical abilities and skill performance, and supports athletes in returning to sports activity safely and effectively. This integrated approach provides a practical model for rehabilitation protocols targeting ankle ligament injuries in competitive gymnastics.
