Building a digital leadership scale for Iraqi athletics sub-federations from the coaches perspective

Abstract

The study aimed to build a digital leadership scale, identify its level, and the level of its dimensions in the sub-federations of athletics in Iraq. The researchers used the descriptive method with the (survey) style as it was suitable for the nature of the research problem. The research population consisted of the accredited coaches in the Iraqi Central Athletics Federation for the sports season (2025-2026), and their number was (64) coaches distributed over (16) A sub-union in the Iraqi governorates, with a percentage of (100%), as they were chosen by the purposive method, and (10) trainers were chosen by the simple random method (drawing lots), with a percentage of (15.62%) of the total research population as a pilot application sample, and (54) trainers, with a percentage of (84.37%) as a statistical analysis sample from the total research population. As for the application sample, it is represented by (64) trainers, with a percentage of (100%) of the total research population, because the researcher adopted the comprehensive enumeration method, and the two researchers used the statistical package (SPSS). The researchers concluded that the sub-federations of athletics seek to provide clear guidelines on the etiquette of electronic communication within and outside their environment to promote digital awareness in order to employ it positively professionally. The researchers recommended striving to consolidate the communicative role of digital leadership in achieving administrative creativity and good management and investment of time according to specific administrative and legal foundations, mechanisms and regulations.
