The research aimed to identify transformational leadership and its relationship to performance motivation among members of the sports federations and committees within the Iraqi National Paralympic Committee. Additionally, it aimed to construct a scale to measure performance motivation among the sample members and to determine the levels of both variables among them. The researcher utilized the descriptive method, employing both survey and correlational approaches. The research population consisted of members of the federations and subcommittees within the Iraqi National Paralympic Committee for the sports season (2025–2026), totaling (163) members. The research sample comprised (117) members. The research instruments included a transformational leadership scale designed to measure leadership behavior from the members' perspective, in addition to the newly constructed performance motivation scale. The psychometric properties of the scale were verified using validity, standard deviation, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis. The researchers reached several conclusions, most notably:
- There is a statistically significant correlation between transformational leadership and performance motivation.
- Performance motivation can be predicted through the dimensions of transformational leadership.
The researchers proposed several recommendations, most notably:
- The necessity for sports leaders to adopt the transformational leadership style, given its positive impact on boosting members' motivation and improving performance levels within sports institutions.
