Aim

"Sports Culture" is a scholarly, open-access journal that adheres to the principles of independent, impartial, and double-blinded peer review. The journal serves as the official online publication of Tikrit University, specifically the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Tikrit, Iraq. It is released semi-annually, in June and December, and is published in both Arabic and English languages.

The main objective of "Sports Culture" is to publish original articles, with a focus on the highest scientific standards in the fields of physical education and sports sciences. The scope of the journal covers a wide range of topics, including motor learning and training, physical sciences, sports teaching, sports health sciences, biomechanics, physiology, sports management, and social psychology in sports.

The journal's scope encompasses a wide range of subjects, including but not limited to exercise and training sciences, physical education, sport pedagogy, recreation, health sciences in sports, sports management, and psychosocial sciences in sport.

The target readership of "Sports Culture" comprises sports professionals, enthusiasts, and researchers with a vested interest or involvement in the fields of physical education and sports sciences, as well as sports medicine practitioners.

Scope

Physical Activity and Health

Articles should focus on the general health effects of physical activity. Papers may stem from various scientific approaches, including population studies, randomized trials, and systematic reviews, and should provide a clear rationale for the research. Results with practical implications are preferred.

 

Physiology and Physical Nutrition

This section publishes original research with strong conceptual foundations in the following scientific inquiries: physical activity physiology, nutrition, molecular and cellular biology, genetics, epigenetics, and kinesiology. Human-based data modeling and sports technology are encouraged.

 

Sports Psychology and Exercise

This section publishes original research in the field of sports psychology and exercise, including related areas such as motor control and motor learning, movement behavior, and expert performance. Research should include clear theoretical and practical details, with preference given to studies that extend beyond the sports and exercise domains.

 

Injury Rehabilitation and Adaptive Sports

This section encompasses articles in the broad research areas of sports medicine and sports biomechanics. Studies related to injuries, treatment processes, clinical studies in sports medicine, sports biomechanics, muscle and neural movement science, movement modeling, and large-scale human-based data modeling are welcomed. Research on strength, fitness, walking studies, and related areas are also encouraged.

 

Sports Performance and Motor Behavior

This section publishes original research that highlights one or more aspects of sports performance. Research on sub-specialties like performance analysis and training from various multidisciplinary fields, such as talent identification, is particularly welcomed. Studies that include interventions, performance modeling, and training methodologies are especially encouraged. Please note that research focusing on participants in sports and emphasizing the core domain of physiology, without including sports performance measurements, should be submitted to the Physiology and Nutrition section.
