The level of mental skills and abilities among female students of sports science and physical activity who practice football

This research aimed to identify the level of mental skills and techniques among female students of sports science and physical activity who practice soccer. A descriptive-analytical approach was used, as it is appropriate for the nature of this study. A standardized questionnaire, "The Sports Mental Training Questionnaire (SMTQ)," consisting of (23) questions, was distributed electronically to a sample of female students studying sports science and physical activity who practice soccer. Mental skills were measured, including (basic skills, performance skills, and personal skills). The questionnaire also aimed to identify the level of mental techniques related to self-talk and mental imagery among the research sample during matches. The research found an increase in the level of mental skills, followed by basic skills, and then performance skills. The researchers recommend the use and implementation of specialized training programs to enhance the mental skills and techniques of female soccer players, given their impact on improving performance during competitions.
