Abstract

The study aimed to show the effect of using the active discovery learning strategy on learning some basic skills in handball, the comparison between  the experimental and control groups in the level of skill performance improvement as well as between the pre- and post-tests, the researcher used the experimental method to suit the nature of the research and its problem, a deliberate community of  fifth preparatory students in one of the schools in the district of Al-Shirqat for the academic year 2025-2026 was deliberately identified ( 120) From the students, the research sample was  randomly selected from the two divisions (A) and (C) to be the samples of the experimental and control groups with (30) students for each group, the researcher prepared teaching plans with (10) plans and they were implemented on the sample of the experimental group, and after conducting the pre- and post-tests, the data were processed by the statistical package (SPSS). The researcher reached a number of conclusions: The active discovery learning strategy helped to improve the learning of a number of basic handball skills for students, the strategy led to raising the level of skill performance in a number of basic handball skills included in the study, by increasing the effectiveness of students in lessons and their participation in opinions and decisions during the lesson.
