A Comparative Study of Educational Needs in Physical Education Classes between Selected Public and Private Schools

The research aimed to identify the level of educational needs for physical education classes for intermediate stage students in some public and private schools in the city of Mosul, and to understand the level of variation among those schools. The researcher used the descriptive approach with a comparative method appropriate for the nature of the current study. The research community consisted of 2,500 intermediate stage students distributed across 10 schools, consisting of 5 public schools and 5 private schools. The research sample consisted of 500 students randomly selected, with 200 students from public schools and 200 students from private schools, and the reliability sample consisted of 30 Twenty students were excluded for not adhering to the instructions, and the researcher used the statistical package SPSS to analyze the data, relying on appropriate statistical methods that included (mean, standard deviation, independent samples t-test, one-sample t-test, paired samples t-test, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson correlation coefficient, and percentage). The results showed a decrease in the level of educational needs in both public and private schools. The results also indicated that public schools excelled over private schools in the overall score of the measure, while private schools showed superiority in the aspect of the need to provide a conducive learning environment.
