Developing an Emotional Regulation Scale for Preparatory Schools Students

This research aims to develop an emotional regulation scale for middle school students in Al-Sharqat District, Salah al-Din Governorate, and to identify thev level of emotional regulation among these students. The researchers employed a descriptive survey methodology. The study population consisted of 310 fifth-grade middle school students from the 2025-2026 academic year, divided into a construct sample and an application sample. The researchers developed the scale according to established scientific methods for scale construction, and data were collected and processed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Following data analysis, the researchers concluded that middle school students in Al-Sharqat District possess a high level of emotional regulation. The researchers recommend utilizing the emotional regulation scale to further assess the emotional regulation level of middle school students.
