The importance of this study lies in keeping pace with scientific developments in the field of physical education by adopting modern teaching strategies that contribute to improving the learning process. The Numbered Heads strategy is considered one of the cooperative learning methods that enhances interaction and participation and supports the development of positive thinking and the improvement of students’ skill performance.
The research problem stems from the reliance of some teachers on traditional teaching methods that do not effectively engage students in the learning process, which leads to weak interaction and limited acquisition of skills, including the football passing skill. This necessitates the use of modern strategies to address this shortcoming.
The study aims to identify the effect of using the Numbered Heads strategy on developing positive thinking and learning the football passing skill among female students.
The researcher employed the experimental method using a design of two groups (control and experimental) with pre- and post-tests. The research sample consisted of (40) female fifth-grade preparatory students in Dhi Qar Governorate, distributed equally into two groups, with (20) students in each group.
The results showed that the use of the Numbered Heads strategy had a positive effect on developing positive thinking and improving the learning of the football passing skill among female students compared to the control group.
Based on these findings, the researcher recommends adopting the Numbered Heads strategy in physical education classes due to its effective role in improving learning outcomes.
